Who we are
Markus Davis, trading as Cheap Flights DMV, is the controller of the personal data described in this notice — we decide what data is collected and why. For any privacy question or request, email markus@cheapflightsdmv.com.
What we collect and why
- Name and email address — when you join the deal alert list or download a free guide. We use these to send you the flight deals and resources you asked for. Legal basis: your consent, and performance of our agreement with you.
- Subscriber details (the name and email address you sign up with) — used to send you the free deal alerts. Legal basis: consent.
- Messages you send us — used to answer you and keep a record of support history. Legal basis: legitimate interests in running the service.
- Technical and usage data (IP address, device and browser information, pages visited) — used to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and understand what content is useful. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
We don't ask for sensitive categories of data, and please don't send them to us.
Marketing emails
If you join the deal alert list we'll email you flight deals and occasional updates about the service. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share data with
- Service providers — our hosting, database and authentication platform, and our email delivery provider, all acting on our instructions to run the service.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose information.
We do not sell your personal data, and we never rent out our email list.
International transfers
We operate from the United States and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, our providers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
We keep deal alert sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Purchase records are kept for up to seven years where we need them for tax and accounting obligations. Support messages are kept for up to three years. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent at any time, and — if you're in the UK or EEA — complain to your local supervisory authority. Under Virginia and similar US state privacy laws you may also have the right to opt out of targeted advertising or profiling; we don't do either.
To exercise any of these, email markus@cheapflightsdmv.com. We'll respond within one month, and we won't charge you or treat you differently for asking.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls on our database, and limiting who can see subscriber information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously — if you spot a security issue, please report it to markus@cheapflightsdmv.com.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in These are required for the site to function. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though signing in won't work without the essential ones.

The service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
